Connect FuelKit to Claude
Connect FuelKit to Claude as a custom connector and you can run the whole app conversationally: "log the tinga bowl for dinner", "plan next week and put it on the shopping list", "where's chicken breast cheapest right now", "read the label photo I just took and add it as a food."
Before you start
- Custom connectors are added from claude.ai in a browser or the Claude desktop app — the mobile apps can't add one. Add it on the web first; it's then attached to your Claude account.
- They're available on all Claude plans, with one limit: the free plan allows a single custom connector. On Team/Enterprise plans, an Owner has to add it for the workspace.
Set up the connection
In claude.ai (or Claude Desktop), open Settings → Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector.
Name it FuelKit and enter the URL:
https://mcp.fuelkit.app/mcpClick Add, then Connect. You'll be sent to FuelKit to sign in with your Google account and approve access — the consent page shows exactly what Claude will be able to do on your behalf.
Back in a chat, make sure the FuelKit tools are enabled in the tools menu (the sliders icon) for the conversation.
That's it — Claude can now read and write your FuelKit data, always as your user, always within your household.
What you can do
- Log food: "log two eggs and toast for breakfast", "I ate one serving of the chili last night" (it can log to past days).
- Manage recipes: "create a meal from this recipe…" (paste one), "recalculate the macros on the burrito bowl".
- Plan and shop: "set Thursday to eating out", "what's on the grocery list?", "add batteries to the list".
- Read labels: photograph a nutrition label in the app, then "process my pending label photos".
- Check prices: "compare chicken breast prices this month" — see Grocery Price Tracking.
- Review: "how am I doing this week?", "what did I average for protein?"
Troubleshooting
- Tools look out of date after a FuelKit update — Claude caches the tool list for a while; disconnect and reconnect the connector to refresh it immediately.
- Connector missing on mobile — manage it from the web or desktop app; the mobile apps can use an account's connectors but not add or repair them.
- Want to cut Claude off? Remove the connector in Settings → Connectors, and it can no longer reach your account.
